The President recently held a meeting with local sheriffs and called some of the illegal immigrants coming into our country “animals.” Statements like these from the bully pulpit are useful because it further reinforces the fact these third world invaders are not like us and need to be removed.
I do think Trump legitimately wants to solve the immigration fiasco. Unfortunately, he is just one man. Congress has been utterly useless in passing what should be common sense immigration reforms. It is absolutely insane that anyone would be against a merit based immigration system and a border wall for security but that is the reality of the situation. The Democrats view illegal immigrants as future Democrat voters and they’ve gone all in on this agenda. He’s also dealing with the swamp itself which is content on not solving any of these problems.
With all that said, there have been some executive moves to at least try and curb the problem. We’d definitely be in far worse shape if Hillary Clinton was running the show right now. I’m cautiously optimistic that he’ll get border wall funding this September when Congress has to refund the government. He should shut down the government if necessary. Let the Democrats run on a pro illegal alien platform in the mid-terms.
