Cineworld just announced the closure of all their venues across the United States, United Kingdom and Ireland. They made this announcement after a new James Bond film was pushed back to a 2021 release.

Cineworld is shuttering all 543 of its Regal Cinema venues in the U.S. and 128 of its cinemas across the U.K. and Ireland this coming week, just days after James Bond film “No Time to Die” was pushed to April 2021. https://t.co/5ntDO8C1mk

The movie theater business is toast. There is no conceivable way that they can operate in this environment.

There are a few movie theaters that have reopened in my area and during the times that you’d normally expect large crowds, there are few if any customers. The parking lots are almost entirely empty with maybe five or six cars in the parking lots. These cars probably mostly all belong to the employees who are working there.

I may take some photos of these movie theaters and write an article about it just to illustrate how dead this business is.
