Germany’s Olaf Scholz thinks he can threaten China with sanctions.

RT:

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has said China will face unspecified sanctions if it meddles in the Ukrainian conflict and offers military assistance to Russia, even as European officials admit they have yet to see any evidence that Beijing intends to do so.

“I think it would have consequences, but we are now in a stage where we are making clear that this should not happen,” Scholz told CNN during his brief visit to Washington, when asked if Germany would sanction its biggest trade partner China.

Beijing has faced a growing wave of accusations from Western officials and media in recent weeks of potentially being open to supplying Russia with military aid – an allegation which it denies. China will “stay committed to an independent foreign policy of peace,” Premier Li Keqiang said on Sunday, making no mention of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

The sanctions on Russia did not work and actually backfired. Similar types of sanctions on China would do even more damage to Germany and the West.

If I were the Chinese I would give Russians weapons and dare the West to put sanctions on them. The sanctions would only benefit them in the longer run.

I mean, just how deluded are these Western political people? They think they’re masters of the universe when they are really overseeing a rapidly declining empire. They do not have the power to bully major powers like Russia or China like they’re some small third world country.

This is actually an interesting idea. Perhaps not right now – it might be seen as a provocation – but eventually it could be something to consider. Maybe the Chinese could just send slingshots for now. The Chinese could supply the shot too: metal balls with the words ‘Made in China’ embossed on them in mirror image to send a message. They’d leave a nice mark.

Another task that the Chinese will have to tackle together with the Russians and at least the North Koreans is the reincorporating of Japan into the Asian sphere of influence, thus prying them loose from America. I realize that all those countries have their beefs with Japan, but while it will require some imaginative diplomacy, I believe it to be an achievable goal.

NATO are a reprehensible lot.
