“The sentence was handed down by New York judge Lewis Kaplan on Thursday. At 25 years, the sentence is half the length of the prison term recommended by prosecutors, but significantly harsher than the six years requested by Bankman-Fried’s lawyers.”
The judge, Kaplan, is the same judge who twice found Trump liable in the E. Jean Carroll phony sex abuse cases.
The prosecutors asked for 50 years, Kaplan cut that in half. Bankster-Fraud stole hundreds of millions. It’s actually a low sentence for that kind of cash. You can be assured that Kaplan wasn’t going to totally destroy the life of a co-ethnic and a fellow Rat party stalwart.
He may have even left some crumbs for an appellate court to follow leading to a reversal or reduction. SBF will eventually get his time at Club Fed reduced as his Stanford Law family will continue the war to spring him. And he will find judicial allies the whole way.
