It’s common knowledge that Nigeria is a highly advanced country. They have a stable electrical grid, fast Internet and a booming economy. That’s why it is surprising that a building would mysteriously collapse in on itself trapping and killing school children.

Daily Star:

At least eight people have been killed after the collapse.

Workers on top of the rubble have been frantically shovelling away the debris while thousands of people swarmed around the site to watch, many of them angry or hysterical, with police, ambulances, Red Cross workers, fire trucks and a fork lift in their midst

Residents said around 100 children had attended the school, which was on the top levels of the building, and that eight had been rescued so far.

One 10-year-old boy was seen being pulled from the rubble, covered in dust but with no visible injuries, and the crowd erupted into cheers as another child was pulled out.

Lagos Governor Akinwuni Ambode visited the site and offered commiserations to bereaved families.

He said the school had been set up illegally and that buildings in the area were undergoing integrity testing.

It’s worth noting that Lagos has strict building codes and talented civil engineers, so it is truly baffling how this could have ever happened. All buildings in the city are well built and well maintained. The pictures don’t lie.

I’d say that this is just a one time occurrence. Such things simply don’t happen in advanced first world countries like Nigeria.

I doubt building regulations is a thing down there.

Why are these nogs breathing my air?

It’s pretty obvious that Osama Bin Laden was behind this. Only war with Iran can stop it from happening again.

#6

yeah , we should probably bomb iran now to get back at Bin Laden

#7

Yes, exactly. We need to bomb Iran and Venezuela, in order to stop Bin Laden from knocking down more buildings with planes in Nigeria and New York.
