Internet access is getting cut as anti-government protests continue throughout Iran.

Telecoms in Iran have cut off internet access in several cities as these anti-government protests continue. Hopefully this makes it more difficult for the anti-government protesters to further coordinate their operations.

Al Arabiya:

Several reports indicate that telecoms providers in Iran have begun blocking internet access across several cities in the country as mass protests erupted for the third day in a row.

Among the telecoms company was Hamrahe Aval, the primary Mobile Telecommunication Company of Iran (MTCI or MCI) as social media continues to play a pivotal role in documenting mass protests and subsequent brutal crackdown on peaceful protesters in the country.

The MTCI is considered a firm jointly held by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and other firms controlled by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran’s two main internet and communications service providers are the Telecommunication Company of Iran (TCI) and Irancell. TCI and its subsidiaries, including MCI, are owned by Tosee Etemad Mobin Company which has close links to Iran’s IRGC.

The Iranian government needs to do a serious crack down on these protesters. This is not a legitimate popular uprising. This is an attempt by the Zionists to subvert and control the country from within.

There’s also talk that the government might order a shut down of the Telegram app which has been popular for coordinating activities throughout Iran.

They should shut down all methods of communication if necessary. The survival of the Iranian government is at stake. They are the main regional power opposing international Zionism in the region so it is vitally important that they crush these protests.

I remember back during the '09 happenings in Iran there were .iso’s going around that you could boot from and run a proxy server for folks in Iran to get access to sites that had been blocked by Ahmedinijad - I ran one for a week, still not quite sure if that was a good idea or not…

Maybe next we’ll hear about Iranian Nazis called Al-Pravi Al-Sektor or something.

Anyway, don’t take any international flights that overfly Iran.

I am a bit ambivalent about this. I believe that the younger generation of Iranians truly are against the religious fanaticism of the government and will eventually rid themselves of this extreme and unpleasant theocracy. However, so often agents provocateurs only lead idealists to their deaths, using them for their own ends and not providing any real support for them.

Are they really fanatics, though, or is that the way they are portrayed in the (((media))). And is their theocracy any worse than our oligarchies in the US and Europe?

Good point. It is certainly no worse than locking people up for “holocaust denial” and “racism”.
