Encrypted page contains insecure information

i get this warning on the BBS:

You have requested an encrypted page that contains insecure information. Information that you see or enter on this page could easily read by a third party

what do?

It’s just the pages with externally hosted media. I don’t get a warning on this page but I do get a warning on the Al Franken article because the images are hosted externally.

In Firefox the way to check this is to view the security information for the page by clicking the lock symbol in the address bar -> more information -> media tab; this will show any insecure (http) media on the page.

Also you can always use the FireFox web developer tools Network Tab to check what content is being loaded from where over what protocol.

The online SSL tester that Qualys has gave forum.infostormer.com an A rating so I’m confident that the SSL setup is in good shape.

Here’s a link to the tester if you want to test it yourself.

i trust you Lee but i didnt know if i should block the insecure stuff or not or if it was just no big deal

Yeah - understood.

As @canschluss pointed out… those warnings sounded like they were coming from stuff that was hosted externally… so there’s not really anything that can be done that.

Using TOR I am getting these squares instead of the icons

54 AM

Edit: bbs uses the same platform and the icons display just fine.

me too. i think it might have something to do with TOR

Yeah seems like that’s an issue exclusive with tor. I saw the same thing.

Once I get through some of the bigger items I’m working on… I’ll see if I can solve some of these random annoyances.

Thanks, however it always displays well on bbs while using TOR and it is the same platform.
(Now it displays correctly as I am writing this.)
