The Paul Manafort trial wrapped up today. The jury found him guilty on 8 of the 18 bank and tax crimes he was charged with.
This whole trial was bullshit. It had nothing to do with Donald Trump, but the intention was to squeeze Manafort with this tax nonsense from years ago to get him to turn on Trump. Usually stuff like this is worked out with the IRS and doesn't rise to the level of criminal charges at this rate of speed.A federal jury in Virginia convicted former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort on eight counts of bank and tax fraud, making him the first campaign associate of President Trump found guilty by a jury as part of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe.
But after four days of deliberations, the jury told Judge T.S. Ellis III on Tuesday afternoon that it could not come to a decision on ten other counts related to financial crimes. A mistrial was declared on those counts.
“I feel very badly for Paul Manafort,” Trump told reporters Tuesday evening after landing in West Virginia for a political rally.
“It has nothing to do with Russian collusion,” Trump added, calling Mueller’s probe a “witch hunt.”
Manafort is also facing more charges stemming from the special counsel witch hunt.
But it’s pretty ridiculous that Bob Mueller and his team of traitors are more concerned about Manafort and rather or not he paid taxes on his Ostrich suit than the insane amount of crimes committed by Hillary Clinton and other Democrats.
Most likely we’ll see Trump give Manafort a pardon at some point any way. If all the special counsel has is getting some boomer for tax fraud and whining about his Ostrich suit than they should quit their witch hunt, issue their goofy report and be done.
