Donald Trump’s immigration proposal has caused the Democrats to go completely insane. Nancy Pelosi is giving speeches where she is talking about how Trump’s plan will make America White again while saying that this is a bad thing somehow.
I get that people have been upset at Trump for his immigration proposal because it gives a pathway to citizenship for the DACA illegal aliens. On the surface, it is reasonable to not like this, but the proposal has put the Democrats in a box. They're arguing against a proposal that legalizes millions of illegal aliens simply because it prevents future illegal aliens and a flood of new immigrants from coming in.House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is under friendly fire from a fellow Democrat for her response to President Trump’s immigration plan that she called a blue print to “make America white again.”
Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W. Va., who was on CNN’s ‘State of the Union,’ said we “don’t need that type of rhetoric on either side, from Nancy, (Speaker) Paul Ryan or anybody else.”
Trump’s proposal would offer a path to citizenship for 1.8 million so-called “Dreamers.” He would insist on $25 billion in funding for a border wall and security. The proposal also called for a crackdown on chain migration and the diversity visa lottery program.
Pelosi wrote in a statement on Friday that the 50 percent cut to legal immigration and the “recent announcements to end Temporary Protected Status for Central Americans and Haitians are both part of the same cruel agenda. They are part of the Trump administration’s unmistakable campaign to make America white again.”
What reasonable person thinks that we should shut down the government on behalf of future immigrants? It is the most insane position imaginable yet that is what Pelosi and other Democrats have been forced into demanding.
Trump is going to force the Democrats into making a deal on his terms or the DACA illegal aliens will get deported. The Democrats are not in a strong political position with th is. They will get blamed by their base if the DACA illegal aliens are forced to leave.
